Mari-Ann was GymbaROO Mitcham’s Founder and owner for 21years. She was an amazing woman with incredible talents and knowledge in working with children and babies. Mari-Ann sadly passed away in April 2016 after suffering from Lymphoma for a long while. She was much loved. Mari-Ann is sadly missed but will always be the very foundations of Gymbaroo Mitcham.
Mari-Ann bought the Mitcham GymbaROO franchise in 1994 and enjoyed building it into a centre which strives to make a positive difference in the life of every family who comes here as it still does. She believed that parenting is the most important job that we ever do and wanted to support every parent.
Before her passing in 2016 Mari-Ann requested that a Scholarship be founded in her name to support one or two committed families to enrol in Gymbaroo. This fund was created from generous contributions from her loving family, friends and colleagues. This Scholarship is now running and is administered by Mari-Ann’s children, Lee, Sally, Krys and her daughter in law, Karen. Thanks to Mari-Ann and her family, two children are currently supported with half scholarships for their attendance. We thank the Baker family for their continued commitment to Gymbaroo.
